Terms
and Conditions
1. Under our Au Pair
arrangements, a single girl/boy between 17 and 27 will
stay as a temporary member of your family, taking meals
with you and sharing your various activities. He/she
should have there own bedroom, two completely free days
per week (not a day on which a language class is attended)
and a minimum of £65 a week pocket money.
2. It should be pointed out that Au Pairs are NOT
employees or domestic servants. They come to England usually to improve on their
level of English and therefore must be free to pursue English classes.
3. According to the Home Office an Au Pair is expected to assist the family for
about 5 hours a day, undertaking certain household duties such as dusting vacuuming,
washing, ironing, bed-making, washing up and babysitting up to two nights per
week. Many Au Pairs leave families because they feel exploited, so it is in the
families best interests to work out a schedule for the Au Pair to follow in order
to make the best use of his/her time.
4. If an Au Pair is staying longer
than three months, you should register them with your doctor. Treatment is usually
provided under the NHS without charge for EU Au Pairs.
5. The Au Pair
will make his/her own travel arrangements to England and should always be met
on arrival.
6. Prospective Au Pairs introduced to the family are selected
with reasonable care, but the agency cannot be held responsible in any way for
the character and suitability for an Au Pair. The agency cannot accept responsibility
for loss, damage, cost, expense, injury or inconvenience of any kind caused by
or to the Au Pair. If the family go on holiday, it is the families responsibility
to satisfactory arrangements for the Au Pair's welfare if he/she does not go with
them.
7. All Au Pairs are entitled to one week paid holiday for each
six month stay with the host family.
8. All information with respect
to potential Au Pairs is given to clients in good faith and in strict confidence.
Should details of any Au Pair be given to a third party without our knowledge,
the appropriate agency fee will be due immediately from the person passing on
the information.
9. Should a mid/long term Au Pair (four months plus)
prove to be unsatisfactory or leave within the first 28 days, one free replacement
shall be offered. Such free replacements will only be made if the agency is advised
within the first 28 days by writing and providing the conditions specified by
the Home Office regarding hours of work, treatments etc. have been followed. There
will be NO REFUND on short term placements (between one and three months). Free
replacements must be taken up within 14 days of the offer otherwise this is not
applicable.
10. Should a mid/long term Au Pair leave prior to 2 months,
50% of the full placement fee is due if a further placement is required. If a
replacement is not required a fee of £75 will be applicable to cover administration
costs.
11. Should an Au Pair fail to take up his/her appointment a replacement
will be made, or a full refund offered.
12. If the family cancels the
arrangement once the Au Pair has accepted the position verbally, HALF THE PLACEMENT
FEE WILL BE PAYABLE by the family.
13.
If the family decides, within 28 day trial period, to terminate the arrangement, they
must give him/her reasonable help to find or pay for accommodation for seven days
from the date of termination. |
